Kiwi Information Report

Kiwi’s are nocturnal because they are most active in the dark! When New Zealand was first created there where only a few birds and Lizards there,there were no predators on the ground and as there were lots of birds flying around to get the berries and the other stuff up in the trees the kiwis had no need to fly and as there were no predators the kiwis could just walk around on the ground! soon after the kiwis adapted to walking!

A part of the kiwis structural adaptation is that they have whiskers also the kiwis structural feature is their colour enables them to blend with the undergrowth in the forest! Kiwis are the only birds in the world with nostrils at the end of their beck The kiwi has no tail feathers but they do have whiskers like a cat!

Kiwis used to be able to fly but over the years they didn’t need them as there were no land predators and as there were some birds that could be predators to them! When the humans first arrived they brought rats,stoats and possums with them. These animals live like kiwis on the ground. These animals eat kiwis and kiwi eggs and this is the reason kiwis are going extinct!Kiwis have lots of different functions in their body that make them more like mammals than birds!

These adaptations are not as effective as they used to be because of the introduction of rats and stoats to New Zealand. Kiwi are now endangered.

Well all of her money come from her family's TV show keeping up with the Kardashians. Kylie made over 500,000 dollars per episode. There are over 15 seasons of this programme so you may think by now she would be a billionaire but recently she was in the news and she is now actually identified as a millionaire not a billionaire! 

This information was surprising to me. Her net worth is 900 million!  That is a lot of money!!

What's in the News this Week?

Today for current events I found out that a pair of Michael Jordan used shoes sold for 943,000 dollars at an auction! I was shocked as I find then ugly! They look dirty and they look as if they have been scratched and throw in mud! I personally would never wear them even though these shoes have been worn by the man himself(Michael Jordan). He wore these shoes in 1985 when he played for the Chicago Bulls! In his years of playing he played up to 1,072! Did you know he used to be able to dunk from the free throw line!! He retired in 2003!

Ancient Egypt

This week we are learning about ancient Egypt!  In Ancient Egypt the Egyptian people were one of the first people to invent/discover writing!

Today Mrs P gave us several puzzles to do to work out what the topic was for this week! It took us awhile but we figured it out by working as a team! We had to make picture puzzles, solve anagrams, do a wordfind, solve maths problems, work out the country by its shape and then confirma our answer with the flag. Ancient Egypt is very interesting since it's been around for 1000's of years! This was a fun way to start the week.
